Flooding

As a result of the flooding that took place over the winter period on the Somerset levels, many people were left homeless and in desperate need of help. The Somerset Community Foundation set up the Emergency Flood Relief Fund to help those who had been affected by the floods. 

As Blake is based in Somerset we felt very strongly about this cause and have donated £2000 to the fund. Clive and Vickie went to the levels to hand over the cheque, and witnessed first hand the flooded landscapes.  

Following the visit, Vickie said: "With a lot of roads in our area being unpassable for weeks, if not months, it has been extremely difficult to reach areas to be able to see the extent to which the flooding has affected the local area. Seeing it on the news is not quite the same as seeing it firsthand. With so many people having been so hugely affected by the flooding I hope that our donation can go someway towards helping the people of Somerset to slowly rebuild their lives."
