CHARITABLE DONATION TO ST MARGARET'S HOSPICE

43

Here at Blake, charitable work plays a large part in our identity, and we are committed to giving our support to a variety of local and national charities with substantial donations.

March 2021, Blake Envelopes donated £500 to St Margaret’s Hospice Care, after being nominated by staff members and being recognised as an organisation that have supported them or members of their family. Tim, their Director said  ‘I have witnessed and experienced first-hand the support and care St Margaret’s provide, not just for the person suffering but also for the whole family, an invaluable service to community in their hour of need. We are very pleased to be able to support this ongoing service.’

On Thursday 5th April, we were happy to be able to present a cheque of £500 to St Margaret’s Hospice, a superb local care system delivering high quality, responsive and compassionate care to patients who are facing a life-limiting illness, and their families, which has been at the heart of Somerset’s community for over 39 years.

St Margaret’s Hospice was nominated by Zarah Pearce, our Head of Sales. Here she tells us why this charity means so much to her:

"Generally the work that St Margaret’s do is outstanding, however, personally the link for me relates to my mum. She was diagnosed with cancer in December 2009:  her original diagnosis was that she had lung cancer but she had also developed a tumour behind one of her knees which had been discovered after a fall during a shopping spree! After this was operated on it meant that she wasn’t very mobile, and St Margaret’s arranged all the things that she needed to make her life comfortable at home including a wheelchair. When she was admitted back into hospital their team were on hand dealing with her palliative care and offering support and advice to my brother and I."

With their vision to provide a community where all patients and their loved ones have access to all the necessary care and support when and where they need it, St Margaret’s ensures that time spent at the hospice is precious and cherished by their families, whether it be for one day or several weeks. Offering excellent medical expertise, nursing skills and specialist support services, they give physical, emotional and spiritual care.
