Do you have any old, used or unwanted shoes lying around your home?
Let’s put them to good use!
As part of our Giving Hope Through Education initiative, we have been privileged to visit a number of different schools and villages in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world.
Meeting and making friends with the children in these areas has been a wonderful yet deeply moving experience, and during our latest Tanzanian project, one particular photograph captured our hearts…
Grace Mgina, aged 8
As you can see, little Grace’s shoes have been cut open to let her toes through. And she isn’t the only one. Thousands of children are having to make do with very poor footwear or, in some cases, nothing at all to protect their feet.
Blake have committed to helping change this, and we will be sending a consignment of shoes with our next shipment of SchoolBags.
We need your help.
Please collect any footwear that your children no longer wear or fit into. All sizes are welcome, from toddlers to young adults, and we will be sending these to children in the Gambia as part of our upcoming work there this month.
Don’t forget to spread the word amongst your family, friends and friends of friends, and let’s make this a success!
The deadline for all donation is November 15th.
If you would like to help, please get in touch with Jess at the Yeovil Hub.
Would you like to contribute towards providing SchoolBags for these children too? Simply click here. Each bag costs £20 to make and fill, and all donations are welcome!
Thank you for you help.Posted: 04/11/19 by Stephanie Smyth
